Memories are more than just an image —with the FotoSpot-B, know when and exactly where your most cherished events took place. The FotoSpot-B will enable your select NIKON and RICOH cameras to be a GPS enabled camera.  The FotoSpot-B instantly transmits the exact location and direction information via Bluetooth to your camera, which then “geotags” each picture. The “Geo-Tagged”pictures can then be viewed as “thumb-nail” images on popular mapping platforms like Google Maps.  FotoSpot-B works seamlessly with Eka’s free MySnapMap software, which will allow you to further enhance the “Geo-Tagged” pictures by imprinting location information and sharing them on popular photo sharing site such as Picasa.     

FotoSpot-B is easy to use and recharges through a standard USB port or by using the provided wall charger.  A Bluetooth dongle which connects to your camera is included on most of FotoSpot-B models.

FotoSpot-B100 has three models FotoSpot-B101, FotoSpot-B102 and FotoSpot-B103which work with select Nikon and Ricoh cameras.

FS-B101 : This model is compatible with cameras like Nikon D90, D3100, D5000, D5100 and D7000.

Geo-tagging pictures involves storing the latitude/longitude and/or directional information within the header (also known as EXIF) of the image file. The process of geo-tagging can be done in real-time inside the camera (some models) or outside the camera (FotoSpot-W100). In some cases, the geo-tagging process has to be performed off-line in a PC with the help of custom software.

FotoSpot- B100 allows you to geo-tag your pictures in real time using Bluetooth wireless technology. The FotoSpot-B100 transmits the latitude/longitude information to the camera in NMEA format. Select Nikon and Ricoh cameras Geo-tag pictures on the camera with this information. While some RICOH models are Bluetooth enabled, select Nikon cameras can be Bluetooth enabled by using Bluetooth dongles for cameras. FotoSpot-B100 comes bundled with a Bluetooth dongle . FotoSpot-B100 also supports the Bluetooth dongle from Foolography.

The user can then transfer the geo-tagged photos on the camera to the PC and view them on a mapping software like Google Earth. FotoSpot works seamlessly with softwares such as GPSPhotoLink, WindImage, FoxView, Geo Fotos Mapper and MySnapMap to organize, edit and map photos.

Note:
1. Before operation, the Bluetooth Dongle has to be paired with the respective FotoSpot-B100.
2. To get an accurate compass reading, it is advisable to attach the FotoSpot-B100 to the hotshoe of the camera.

Does FotoSpot-B100 work with any Digital Camera?
No.  The FotoSpot-B100works only with select NIKON and RICOH cameras that have GPS support. 

Does FotoSpot-B100 need a Bluetooth Dongle to work?
Yes.  For specific NIKON cameras, you need a Bluetooth dongle to work.  For some RICOH cameras with built-in Bluetooth receivers, the dongle is not necessary.

What if  I don’t have a Bluetooth dongle?
You can geo-tag pictures offline on a PC. For this you have to make sure that the time on the camera and time on the FotoSpot unit are synchronized. 

Will the FotoSpot-B100 work with a Bluetooth dongle , I already have?
The FotoSpot –B100 currently works with bluetooth dongles from Foolography and is able to receive both GPS and compass information.  However, some AOKA blue tooth dongles will receive GPS strings only.
