Incorporating images from supported Nikon digital cameras with your GIS workflow application has become a lot simpler. With the FotoMapr-C, you can now capture geo-coded images and integrate them easily with your mapping application. The FotoMapr-C instantly transmits the exact location and direction over a cable connection and embeds them with the image each time you take a picture, unlike any other geo-tagging attachments. FotoMapr-C is easy to use and recharges through a standard USB port. FotoMapr supports external antennas and has enough memory to store “Track Logs” along with the geo-coded images. FotoMapr works with leading software such as GPSPhotoLink, WindImage,  FoxView, Geo Fotos Mapper and MySnapMap software to organize and process your geo-coded images.

FotoMapr-C100 has two models FotoSpot-C101 and FotoSpot-C102 which work with select Nikon cameras.

FM-C101 : This model is compatible with cameras like Nikon D90,D3100, D5000, D5100 and D7000.

FM-C102 : This model is compatible with cameras like Nikon D200,D300, D300s, D700, D2X, D2Xs, D2Hs, D3, D3X and D3s

Geo-tagging pictures involves storing the latitude/longitude and/or directional information within the header (also known as EXIF) of the image file. The process of geo-tagging can be done in real-time inside the camera using the FotoMapr-C100. In some cases, the geo-tagging process has to be performed off-line in a PC with the help of custom software.  

FotoMapr-C100 allows you to geo-tag your pictures in real time using a hard wired cable. The FotoMapr-C100 transmits the latitude/longitude information to the camera in NMEA format. Select Nikon cameras Geo-tag pictures on the camera with this information.

The user can then transfer the geo-tagged photos to the PC and view them on a map like Google Earth. FotoMapr works seamlessly with software such as GPSPhotoLink, WindImage, FoxView, Geo Fotos Mapper and MySnapMap to organize, edit and map photos.

Note:

1. To get an accurate compass reading, it is advisable to attach the FotoMapr-C100 to the hot-shoe of the camera.

Does FotoMapr-C100 work with any Digital Camera?

No. The FotoMapr-C100 works only with select Nikon cameras that have GPS support. 

Which NIKON cameras are supported by FotoMapr-C100?

The picture is geo-tagged in real time in the camera. 

Does the FotoMapr-C100 draw power from the camera?

No. The FotoMapr-C100 is self powered and can be charged using an USB.

What if my cable is not working or I don’t have a cable?

You can geo-tag pictures offline on a PC.. For this you will have to make sure that the time on the camera and time on the FotoMapr unit are synchronized.
