Memories are more than just an image — with the FotoSpot-W100, know when and exactly where your most cherished events took place. The FotoSpot-W100 will enable any of your SDHC compatible camera to be a GPS enabled camera. The FotoSpot-W100 instantly marks your pictures with the exact location and direction each time you take a picture, unlike any other geo-tagging attachments. The “Geo-Tagged” pictures can then be viewed as“thumb-nail” images on popular mapping platforms like Google Maps. FotoSpot-W100 works seamlessly with Eka’s free MySnapMap software, which will allow you to further enhance the “Geo-Tagged”pictures by imprinting location information and sharing them on popular photo sharing site such as Picasa. FotoSpot-W100 is easy to use and recharges through a standard USB port or by using the provided wall or car chargers. An Eye-Fi card is included on most FotoSpot-W100 models.

Geo-tagging pictures involves storing the latitude/longitude and/or directional information within the header (also known as EXIF) of the image file. The process of geo-tagging can be done in real-time inside the camera (some models) or outside the camera (FotoSpot-W100). In some cases, the geo-tagging process has to be performed off-line in a PC with help of custom software.

FotoSpot- W100 allows you to geo-tag your pictures in real time using Wi-Fi wireless technology. The FotoSpot-W100 receives the pictures from a Wi-Fi enabled camera. Most digital cameras can be Wi-Fi enabled by using the provided Wi-Fi SD card from Eye-Fi. On receiving the entire picture, FotoSpot-W100 geo-tags the picture with positional and directional information and stores a copy of the geo-tagged image.

The user can then transfer the geo-tagged photos to the PC and view them on a mapping software such as Google Earth. FotoSpot works seamlessly with software such as GPSPhotoLink, WindImage, FoxView, Geo Fotos Mapper and MySnapMap to organize, edit and map photos

Note:
1.Ensure that the Eye-Fi card is paired to its respective FotoSpot-W100, before using it in the camera.
2. To get an accurate compass reading, it is advisable to attach the FotoSpot-W100 to the hot-shoe of the camera.

Does FotoSpot-W100 work with any Digital Camera?
No. It works with digital cameras that support SDHC.

Does FotoSpot-W100 need an Eye-Fi Card to work?
Yes. FotoSpot-W100 needs an Eye-Fi card to geo-tag pictures in real-time.

How do I know if my camera supports the Eye-Fi card?

What if I don’t have a Eye-Fi card?
You can geo-tag pictures offline on a PC. You have to make sure that the time on the camera and time on the FotoSpot unit are synchronized.

Will the FotoSpot work with an Eye-Fi card, I already have?
The FotoSpot – W100 currently works with Eye-Fi Connect X2 ,Eye-Fi Mobile X2 and Eye-Fi Pro X2 only. If you already own a Connect-X2, please order model number FS-W102.
